Date: February 15, 2024 

What: The Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (RACVB) is pleased to welcome back to Rockford the IHSA (Illinois High School Association) for the Girls Bowling 2024 State Finals. There are 24 teams registered and the finals will draw over 500 spectators, bringing in an estimated economic impact of nearly $200,000 to region. This year marks the 30th anniversary of Rockford hosting this tournament.   

Each of the 24 IHSA teams includes 8 female bowlers. This year’s championships also include a record number of wheelchair participants, with 7 bowlers. Local bowler, Ashlin Teves, a sophomore at Harlem High School, boasts the highest qualifying individual score from sectionals and will compete at the finals. Harlem High School also had the highest team qualifying score heading into the finals. 

When:  Friday, February 16 and Saturday, February 17

Games will begin at 9 a.m. on both days.

Where:  The Cherry Bowl 7171 Cherryvale N Blvd, Rockford, IL 61112

Why: “Hosting IHSA girls bowling state finals in the Rockford region for the past 30 years is a true testament to the great facilities and welcoming accommodations our region offers.  We look forward to welcoming the 24 teams from across the state and cheering for our two local teams, Harlem & Hononegah!  A big thank you to Cherry Bowl and our local tournament director for being such great hosts over the years!
